"The Clubhouse"
Welcome to The Clubhouse! A key initiative of the East-John Youth Center that started with the establishment of the first state-supported Adolescent Clubhouse in Calvert County in 2020 to support the effort to combat the impact of the opioid crisis on our youth. Since, our programming has expanded to a broader focus on health equity and the undesirable outcomes that health disparities create in our communities.
Our program is dedicated to creating a safe, nurturing space where youth at risk or experiencing substance use or mental health challenges can thrive. The Clubhouse is designed for youth aged 10-18, especially those at risk or experiencing substance use or mental health challenges. We focus on supporting those impacted by Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) through a prosocial approach to their personal and academic development. Our program includes life skills development, educational support, health and wellness activities, mentorship, and community engagement. We strive to provide a well-rounded experience that helps youth build resilience, improve their academic performance, and enhance their overall well-being.
